A few of the questions we are asked on a regular basis from other couples organising their wedding at Forty Hall.
Is The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall easy to find?
It’s easy for you to find us because we are less than 2 miles from the A10 and junction 25 on the M25, and there are also excellent road and rail links from London and the surrounding area.
Is The Banqueting Suite licensed to carry out civil weddings?
Yes we can cater for ceremonies from 5 guests to 180 guests. The Main Hall is licensed for up to 180 guests and the Garden Room can hold more intimate ceremonies for up to 60 guests.
During the warmer months, ceremonies for up to 150 people can take place on the rear terrace.
What authority does it come under, and can they supply names and contact details for the registrar?
London Borough of Enfield, and they can be contacted on 0208 379 1000
Do I have to make arrangements with the registrar?
Yes, unfortunately, we can not do this for you.
How many guests can The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall accommodate?
180 guests for a civil ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 250 for the evening party
How many car parking spaces are available?
Over 100 spaces are available in the public car park and up to 10 in the smaller car park. Please be aware that dependant on the time of year and how busy the estate is, these car parking spaces are also used by public visitors.
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall allow confetti to be thrown?
Yes, however it must be dried petals only that must be light in colour and non-staining. Paper confetti, even if biodegradable, is NOT allowed.
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall allow candles to be lit?
Yes, only LED candles.
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall allow professional firework displays?
Unfortunately we do not allow firework displays due to there being a farm on site housing animals.

Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall have a Public Address (PA) system that can be used for speeches?
Yes, with a wireless microphone. It can also be used to play background music through an iPhone connector or audio jack.
Does The Banqueting Suite have special arrangements with, or details of Hotels for guests to stay at?
We don’t have any special agreements with local hotels but we can send a list of local places to stay.
Is it OK for the photographer/videographer to visit The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall beforehand to get an idea of what they can expect on the day?
Yes, of course. We welcome any suppliers who have not worked with us before to come and visit prior to working on an event.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SPACE
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall offer the option of a marquee?
There is the option of putting a marquee on one of the lawns of the estate or within the courtyard, but this is with individual approval and subject to availability. The marquee has to be hired externally and the spaces booked separately from the Banqueting Suite via Enfield Council.
Is there a room provided for the use of the ‘Bride and Groom’ for the day?
Yes
When can we have access to begin setting up the room in terms of decorating it with balloons, flowers, banners, etc?
External suppliers can have access to the room from 10am on the day of the booking unless other timings have been agreed in advance.
If the evening reception is being held in a room that is being used for something else earlier in the day, do you require the DJ/Band to setup their equipment beforehand?
This depends on guest numbers and individual requirements. We would always discuss this with the couple and suppliers in advance of your wedding day.
Is there an area that could be used as a crèche if needed?
No, unless you want to turn the reception space around into a kids’ area after the drinks reception or use the bridal room for this instead.
Is there a quieter area for older guests to get away from the noise of a band/DJ?
The Garden Room is included in the package, which gets guests away from the noise.
Are rooms available for overnight accommodation?
Unfortunately, we do not have any bedrooms on-site.
Do you have a room where you are able to store wedding presents until we are able to collect them, and are you insured for any loss or damage to these presents?
No – the bridal party are responsible for all gifts. You are welcome to store them in the bridal room during the event, which can be locked, but this is at your own risk and discretion.
QUESTIONS ABOUT FOOD AND CATERING
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall insist on doing all the catering?
We enjoy being able to offer you a wide selection of menus however, we can allow outside caterers if you have specific menu requests that we are unable to authentically provide.
Can The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall supply examples of suggested menus along with prices?
Of course, please get in touch, and one of our dedicated wedding planners will send you a brochure and sample menus.
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall include a cake stand and knife if required?
Yes – this is included in all of our in-house packages
Does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall have a preferred order of service?
We have no preference as the day is entirely yours, but we will of course be happy to help with recommended schedules.
What time does The Banqueting Suite at Forty Hall offer an alcohol license until?
The bar can stay open till 23:30 as standard, but a late licence can be purchased to allow the bar to stay open until 01:00.
What time does The Banqueting Suite at Forty hall insist the reception finishes by?
On a standard event, the music has to stop at 23:30 with guests departing no later than midnight. If a late licence is purchased, then the music stops at 01:00 with guests departing at 01:30.
